Business trip GetTransfer

Meetings, not sightseeing — the badge, the spare shirt, and the charger that keeps a laptop alive through back-to-back calls.

A business trip runs on a schedule you don't control, so what you pack should protect the one thing you can't get back — time. Keep a digital and printed copy of your itinerary and hotel confirmation together; immigration and hotel front desks both ask for it, and wifi doesn't always cooperate when you land. If a client site requires its own ID badge or a specific dress code, that's worth confirming before you fly, not in the lobby. Pack a spare shirt in your carry-on — a spilled coffee before a meeting isn't a reason to reschedule it, and checked luggage doesn't always arrive with you.

Documents & money

Your passport or ID should match the name on both your flight and your hotel booking exactly, and if a client site requires its own access badge, some companies issue it in advance so you're not stuck at security on day one.

Clothing & packing

A wrinkle-resistant blazer or set of separates survives a garment bag better than a suit does, and a spare shirt in your carry-on covers you if a bag is delayed or a meeting doesn't leave time to change. Comfortable shoes matter more than they look — a day of walking between meetings in dress shoes you haven't broken in yet is its own kind of jet lag.

Tech & gadgets

A laptop is the one thing you can't improvise if it's left behind, and hotel rooms rarely have more than one outlet near the desk — a universal adapter means you're not fighting your phone for it while a call is loading.

Health & safety

Personal medication belongs in your carry-on, not checked luggage, for the same reason it does on any flight — delays happen. Earplugs or a sleep mask do more for a red-eye than they get credit for, especially before a morning meeting.

Business trip essentials

Business cards still matter in rooms where swapping a LinkedIn handle feels presumptuous on a first meeting. A laptop bag that fits under the seat saves you from checking a bag you can't afford to lose track of, and having your itinerary and hotel confirmation ready — printed or downloaded — answers most questions before they're asked.
